Technical Support

When our heat transfer fluids are used within the suggested temperature ranges they can provide many years of trouble free service.  To help users achieve maximum life, we offer testing of in-service thermal fluids to detect contamination, moisture, thermal degradation and other conditions that may impact on systems performance.  Regular testing and fluid maintenance increases system reliability and reduces downtime and related costs. Customers who wish to have fluid analysis can do so by providing us with a sample from the system.  Routine testing includes testing on corrosion inhibitors, freeze point, pH, clarity, sediment, contaminations including chlorides, sulphates, total hardness, & corrosion levels.

Simple quality control techniques such as pH can tell us important information relating to the performance of the fluid in use.  A fall in pH reveals to us a drop in inhibitor levels and a breakdown of the glycol chemistry.  The fall in pH may lead to corrosion and possible inefficiencies in system performance.  Through our analysis we can determine if corrosion is already occurring and identify the metal ions present within the fluid.  Other techniques include determining the freeze protection levels individual fluid provide, this can be important as often systems as well designed as they may be can have leaks, leading to a dilution in the heat transfer concentrations.

Our ISO certified laboratories can provide all the answers you are looking for from a fluid. Results of the tests are presented in a detailed report that provides suggestions for corrective action if any.  Test results are stored in a database for future reference.

Our Technical Support includes:

Experienced technical service specialists can help answer your questions regarding heat transfer fluid selection, system start-ups, system design, and operational issues.

  • Receive technical assistance
  • Request sample kits, product literature or Safety Data Sheets

We regularly assist some of the world’s largest engineering, chemical and equipment manufacturing companies on the design and operation of heat transfer systems. Our liquid phase and vapor phase design guide information and system design data have been field tested in numerous installations. We conduct engineering seminars for customers, engineering firms and equipment manufacturers to cover a wide range of heat transfer fluid system design and operation issues. Customers can request a technical service visit to audit heat transfer systems for fluid loss and leak prevention opportunities.

We believe that by sharing our experience with customers, we can help improve system design, promote safety and reduce overall cost. Customers can take advantage of our heat transfer system operation and product training programs. These programs are customized to suit the varied needs of front line technicians, operations supervisors, maintenance technicians and design engineers. Customers can also receive training assistance for dealing with important topics like fluid safety and handling.

We go above and beyond to ensure we manufacture products that are safe for our employees to handle and for our customers to use. We provide our customers safety awareness training that focuses on the design, start-up, operation and maintenance of heat transfer fluid systems.

Start-up is often the most difficult part of operating a heat transfer fluid system. Total Fluid Solutions provides start-up assistance by reviewing procedures and making suggestions to reduce typical problems.
