Applications
Food & Beverage

Inhibited glycols are widely used within the food and beverage industry. Precise temperature control is essential within food & beverage processing facilities. Whether a process calls for chilling or freezing choosing a suitable heat transfer fluid is necessary to ensure system does not freeze or create corrosion. Another consideration is the acute oral toxicity of the fluid. The accepted and proven safe to use product in this instance is propylene glycol. Propylene Glycol is proven to be generally recognised as safe (GRAS) by the FDA and the NSF International. Typical end user applications include brewing, fermentation, bottling process of carbonated beverages, dairy, fish production and cold room storage to name but a few.
